What aluminium repairs we do

We carry out common repairs on domestic aluminium windows and doors, including:

  • Handles — stiff, broken, or failed aluminium window and door handles
  • Hinges — worn or seized hinges on aluminium casement windows and doors
  • Locks and mechanisms — locking faults, failed multipoint mechanisms, cylinder issues
  • Glass replacement — misted, cracked, or broken sealed units replaced in existing aluminium frames

Common aluminium problems we fix

Stiff or broken handles

Aluminium window and door handles can seize or break, particularly on older systems where the hardware has corroded or worn. Replacement handles are available for most common aluminium systems.

Failed hinges

Hinges on aluminium windows and doors can wear, corrode, or fail — causing the window or door to drop, catch, or not close properly. In most cases the hinge can be replaced without changing the frame.

Locking issues

Lock and mechanism faults on aluminium doors are similar to uPVC — handles, gearboxes, and multipoint mechanisms can all fail. We diagnose the fault and replace the faulty part where possible.

Misted or broken glass in aluminium frames

Sealed glass units in aluminium frames fail for the same reasons as uPVC — seal failure causes misting, and impact causes cracks or breaks. We replace the glass unit within the existing aluminium frame. The frame stays; only the glass changes.

Repair or replace?

Many aluminium window and door faults are repairable. A failed handle, hinge, or glass unit does not automatically mean the whole window or door needs replacing. Where the aluminium frame itself is sound, repairing the faulty part is usually the more sensible and cost-effective option.

We'll tell you honestly if repair is the right route or if replacement makes more sense for your situation.
