Blinds sealed inside the glass
Integral blinds — sometimes called integrated blinds, blinds between the glass, or blinds inside double glazing — sit sealed between the two panes of a double-glazed unit. Because the blind is sealed between the panes, it is protected from normal room dust and there are no separate loose blinds hanging in front of the glass. They're operated by a neat magnetic slider or cord on the frame, raising, lowering and tilting just like a normal blind.
We can advise on, source and fit replacement sealed glass units with integral blinds where suitable — for patio doors, French doors, bifold doors, and larger windows.
Where integral blinds work well
- Patio & French doors — privacy and shade without blinds in the way of the door
- Bifold doors — clean lines with no separate blinds to catch as the doors fold
- Large windows — easy shading on big panes that are awkward to reach
- Kitchens, bathrooms & allergy-conscious homes — protected from everyday dust and grease
The blind is sealed inside the unit, so if the blind mechanism ever fails it can't be opened up and repaired — the whole sealed unit usually needs replacing. And not every frame or system is suitable. We'll check your frames and be straight with you about whether integral blinds are the right fit before anything is ordered.
How it works with us
We start from photos and the sizes of the doors or windows you want fitted. We confirm whether your frames will take an integral-blind unit, recommend a suitable specification, and source the made-to-measure units. We then fit them in place of the existing glass — the frame stays, only the sealed unit changes.
What does it cost?
Integral-blind units are made to measure and priced on the size and specification, so we quote after checking the size and specification of your doors or windows — there's no one-size price. Send us photos and the rough sizes and we'll come back with a clear guide price.

No — we don't manufacture sealed units. We advise on, source and fit replacement sealed glass units with integral blinds where the frame and system are suitable. The units are made to measure by a manufacturer to the correct specification.

Not inside the existing unit — the blind is sealed between the panes and can't be opened up and serviced. If the blind mechanism fails, the whole sealed unit usually needs replacing. It's worth knowing this before choosing integral blinds.
-
Often, yes — they're popular in patio, French and bifold doors and in larger windows. Suitability depends on the frame and the existing unit, so we check first. Send us photos and we'll tell you whether your frames will take them.
