Door Installation in Bristol
A new door makes sense when the existing one is warped, draughty beyond repair, or no longer secure. If the door itself is sound but the lock or hinges are faulty, a door repair is usually the better first step.
We handle everything: survey, supply, removal of the old door, installation, and clean-up. Toughened safety glass is fitted as standard in all glazed doors — it's a legal requirement. Every installation is Assure Register certified.

Toughened safety glass is a legal requirement for all door glass. We quote it as standard with no exceptions.
uPVC door or composite door — which should I choose?
Both uPVC and composite doors are excellent choices for a Bristol home. The main differences come down to budget, appearance, and how long you want it to last.
uPVC doors are the more affordable option, starting from around £1,300 for a back door and £1,800 for a front door plus VAT. They're low maintenance, energy efficient, and available in a wide range of styles. For most back doors and many front doors, uPVC is the practical and cost-effective choice.
Composite doors look more premium — they have a solid timber core wrapped in GRP (fibreglass), which gives them a more substantial feel and appearance. They're heavier, more rigid, and tend to hold their look better over 15–20 years. They cost slightly more but many homeowners feel the appearance justifies it for a front door.
We're happy to discuss both options and help you decide what makes most sense for your home and budget.

Frequently Asked Questions
- A standard door installation takes 2–4 hours. Lead time from order is typically 3–6 weeks — composite and uPVC doors are made to order. We confirm the installation date when you accept the quote.
- A composite door has a solid timber core wrapped in GRP (fibreglass), making it heavier, more rigid, and better insulated than a uPVC door. Composite is the better choice for a front door where appearance and security matter. uPVC is excellent value for rear and side doors.
- Not separately — as Assure Register accredited installers, we self-certify compliance on your behalf. You receive a certificate confirming compliance, required when selling your home.
- 50% deposit when you accept the quote, 50% on completion. Bank transfer only — no card payments.
